Houston Fit Spring Programs Set to Start

Houston Fit’s 2017 Spring Programs are set to start this Saturday, January 28, 2017.  Please register online.  If now we will have onsite registration Saturday morning from 6:00 am until 6:50am.  We meet at the old Luke’s Locker location at 1953 West Gray.  Be prepared to walk or run on Saturday.

USA FIT HOUSTON SPRING PROGRAM – REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!!!

Registration is now open for USA Fit Houston’s Spring Programs.  The program will start on Saturday, January 28th, 2017 and continue through Saturday, April 29, 2017.  There will be marathon, half marathon, Stay Fit -5K/10K program, and Walk to Run training groups. We have something for everyone! Bring a friend!!!

Transfer to the Houston Fit Winter Group for $50

Is your Fall training coming to an end??? Current Houston Fit members can transfer to the Houston Fit Winter group for just $50! This gets you training through January, which includes the Aramco Half Marathon, Chevron Marathon, and USA Fit Marathon & Half Marathon, among other races. You can register online here:

The Houston Fit Winter program will not be having a group run on Saturday, October 24th since we will be running the Houston Half Marathon & 10K as a group.

Special Warm-up Series Pricing for Houston Fit this Saturday

In addition to a HARRA presentation by Joe Carey, outgoing HARRA President, Mike Mangan, representing the Houston Marathon Warm-up Series will be joining us tomorrow to provide members a special opportunity to register for the Warm-up Series, the Mini Warm-up Series (25K & 30K), the 25K or the 30K.

Houston Fit Members will be offered a special price if you register on Saturday morning. You must have a current Houston Fit shoe tag and your HARRA membership number, if applicable, to be eligible for the special pricing

HOUSTON FIT NIGHT AT LUKE’S LOCKER, AUGUST 12TH

Join Houston Fit for music, munchies and markdowns while we welcome humanitarian and guest of honor Robert Key at Luke’s Locker (West Gray location) at 7pm on August 12th.

REGISTRATION FEES INCREASE AFTER AUGUST 1, 2015

Don’t let this training season pass you by! There is still time to register for USA Fit Houston’s winter programs, but there are only a few more days before the fees increase. Current registration fees are $110.00 for Returning Members and $140.00 for New Members. Late Registration Fees increase to $150.00 after August 1, 2015.

USA Fit Houston has a Winter ATP program

We are extremely happy to say that along with our regular training groups and Team Fit, we have our official ATP coaches, Teresa and Laura, who are ready to train you!

ATP (Advanced Training Program): the core training philosophy embodied in this training regimen emphasizes quality over quantity. The schedule is flexible, but it contains a strong backbone – a progression through general, special, specific, and explosive strength training and an intense focus on the demands of marathon running. Because the workouts are more “advanced” participants are required to have completed a marathon or half marathon before starting.

Orientations/Informational Sessions will be held at Luke’s Locker, 1953 West Gray.  In-person registration will also be available at these sessions.

Wednesday, July 8, 2015 – 7-9pm

Our first training day is Saturday, July 11, 2015.  We meet on N. Picnic Lane, Memorial Park for opening day activities.  We will have in-person registration from 6am – 7am and then will have our first group run.

Fall Program 2015 – 1st Saturday Run – May 9

Fall Programs are set to begin this Saturday, May 9

It is hard to believe TRAINING WILL START IN LESS THAN ONE WEEK!!!!   Everyone is excited and eager to get out there and begin their training and your coaches are even more excited to start working with you go help you get to the start line of your goal race.

If you have not yet registered do not wait too long.  Online registration is still open at www.houstonfit.com.  If you prefer, you can register onsite on our first day, Saturday May 9th at Luke’s Locker between 6 am to 6:45 am.

For those that have already registered, or plan to register on Saturday morning, below are the details.

Training begins:
May 9th at Luke’s Locker, 1953 West Gray.
We will start our Saturday runs from there until further notice.  Show up Saturday and be ready to run or walk as that will be our first official day of training.

Weekday runs:
The Fall Program will have additional group runs on Tuesday and Thursday as follows and everyone is encouraged to attend:

The morning groups  will start promptly at 5:30 am and will run from
Stude Park.  This group will be led by coaches Tonya and Steven.

The afternoon groups will start promptly at 6:30 pm and will meet on
Tuesdays at various locations for hill/strength training and on
Thursdays at Memorial Park.  This group will be led by coaches
Sylvia and Colin.

Further information on the weekday runs will be in our weekly newsletters.

The ATP group will meet on Monday and Wednesday mornings at Memorial Park. Please contact Coach Patrick for more information on the ATP program.

Winter orientation and start dates will be announced later.
